Easter Eggs!

March 21st, 2008 · No Comments

Easter Eggs! What is a nice Jewish girl doing writing about easter eggs you may ask (and no that is not a picture of me!)

Have some hard boiled eggs for protein before you bite into the chocolate one!! We are giving out some hard boiled eggs for Easter :)

What is protein?

Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood.

Protein helps muscle development, increases strength, and improves athletic performance.

Unlike fat and carbohydrates, the body does not store protein, and therefore has no reservoir to draw on when it needs a new supply.

Hard boiled eggs are a GREAT way to get some quick protein.

And if you must eat the chocolate egg (and I am a BIG fan of chocolate) just be really diligent with your food intake. If you workout regularly and control your portion sizes there is always room for a little chocolate!
