3-28-2008 My Summer Fitness Challenge Journal

Today I was super tired. I do not know what it was, but I was trying to follow along with some of the summer fitness challenge videos and workouts during the week and I was just feeling super low on energy.

I have been telling my readers over at my blog that I have been feeling tired and asking the teens and mom teams who are doing the fitness challenge with me what they think ad how they are doing in their workouts? (some are all over the world!)

Of course Karen was a little bit kinder and said it was probably just stress (she is probably right, but I hate to admit it).  We did our normal 5 minute warm-up on the treadmil and I have been wearing my heart rate monitor all week that I bought from her.

I find this thing fascinating! Not only is it interesting to know how truly active you are and how many calories you really burn compared to the average person (I do not burn as many as I thought typing all day), but it is also really cool to se what gets your heart rate going.

I realized during some phone calls my heart gets pumping (that person must make me nervous??), but during others I am completely stable.  I also now try to jump on the trampoline for  few minutes every hour thanks to the little heart rate calculator.  So, for all of my fellow work-outees, definitely consider getting yourself a heart rate monitor it really helps keep you active and gives you an accurate sense of what you are really doing.
